钟楼位于东街与西街、中山南路与北路的十字路口，1934年开建，1935年完工，高13.8米，由留英设计师设计，具有欧洲风格。钟楼有4个圆形时钟分别挂于四面，外面是玻璃钟罩。
The clock tower locates at the intersection of East street and West street,Zhongshan South road and North road.It was built in 1934 and completed in 1935 about 13.8 meters high.It was designed by the designer studying in England in European style. It has four round clocks hanging on four sides,with a glass clock cover on the outside.

民间故事 相传新任县长提倡惜时守时，故而选址在聚居密度大、四面通达的市区南街头（即中山路）十字路中建造钟楼。
According to the folklore,the county magistrate advocated to cherish time and punctuality,so he chose to build a bell tower in the crossroad of Zhongshan South road,which is densely populated and accessible in all directions.
